House Rules
- Legal age, in a place where cannabis is legal, in Canada or the US.
- Shoot the ritual, not the face. Nobody under legal age in the photo, ever.
- No driving, no selling, no brand ads, nothing graphic.
- You keep your photo. You let us show your card and use it to promote Hey Chronic!
- A person reviews every card, and every report.
1. Who can send a card
You must live in Canada or the United States and be of legal age to use cannabis where you are: 19 or older in most of Canada, 18 or older in Alberta, 21 or older in Québec and in the US. Cards can only land in provinces, territories and states where adult-use cannabis is legal. We keep that list up to date as the law changes.
2. What belongs on a card
Toke the World celebrates the ritual and the plant’s life cycle: germinate, plant, grow, harvest, trim, grind, roll, enjoy, experience. Hands, smoke, the jar, the rolling tray, the garden, the view. We won’t publish cards that:
- show anyone who is, or looks, under the legal age;
- show cannabis use while driving or operating anything, or in a way that puts someone at risk;
- show a face without that person’s permission;
- advertise, price or offer cannabis or any product for sale, or feature a brand, dispensary or logo as the main subject;
- show use somewhere it isn’t allowed, like a school, a workplace or another place where consumption is banned;
- contain nudity, sexual content, violence or gore, or attack anyone for who they are;
- use a photo you don’t have the right to use; or
- break the law where you are.
3. Review and reports
A real person reviews every card before it appears. We may decline any card. Anyone can report a card; reports go straight to our team and don’t remove a card automatically, but we review every one and take down cards that break these rules.
4. Where your card lands
Your card claims a random 4 × 6 inch spot inside the province or state you choose. It is never your address or your location.
5. Your photo, and what you let us do with it
You keep ownership of your photo and words. By sending a card you confirm that you took the photo (or have the right to use it) and that everyone recognizable in it agreed to be included. You give Hey Chronic!, Spread Media Studios and RWS Films a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to show your card, your note, your first name or nickname and your province or state on this site and in posts and materials that promote Hey Chronic!, and to resize or crop it to fit. We don’t pay for cards. Ask us any time to take yours down: Connect@spreadmediastudios.com.
6. Your information
We use your email to send you your card, tell you when it’s on the map, and, only if you ask, send Hey Chronic! news. We never sell it. See the Privacy Policy.
7. Please be responsible
Know your limits, keep cannabis away from kids and pets, and never drive high. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell or a recommendation to use cannabis.
